I am looking at forwarding HTTP (front end) to HTTPS (backend). Backend is not being invoked.
Simplified to only HTTP to HTTP, still no luck.
HA-Proxy version 1.8.7 2018/04/07

Debug mode shows only this
haproxy -f /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg -d
Available polling systems :
epoll : pref=300, test result OK
poll : pref=200, test result OK
select : pref=150, test result OK
Total: 3 (3 usable), will use epoll.

Available filters :
[TRACE] trace
[COMP] compression
[SPOE] spoe
Using epoll() as the polling mechanism.

Pointed the backend to a HTTP end point on local server.
I see the request being forwarded. Since there were no logs to indicate request was being forwarded, I assumed request was not being forwarded.
Need to test with HTTP (front end) to HTTPS(backend)

This requires adding to the server config line the `ssl` keyword and either the CA certificate (`ca-file /path/to/ca-cert.pem`) or disable cert verification (`verify none`).
