# Unable to install HAPROXY 2.1.2

Dear All,

Struggling to install HAPROXY 2.1.2 with USE\_LUA=1

Tried below options:

[root@centos haproxy-2.1.2]# make -j $(nproc) TARGET=generic USE\_SYSTEMD=1 USE\_LINUX\_TPROXY=1 USE\_CRYPT\_H=1 USE\_GETADDRINFO=1 USE\_ZLIB=1 USE\_REGPARM=1 USE\_OPENSSL=1 USE\_PCRE=1 USE\_THREAD=1 USE\_LUA=1

Getting below error:

Makefile:543: \*\*\* unable to automatically detect the Lua library name, you can enforce its name with LUA\_LIB\_NAME= (where can be lua5.3, lua53, lua, …). Stop.

With below option:

make -j $(nproc) TARGET=generic USE\_SYSTEMD=1 USE\_LINUX\_TPROXY=1 USE\_CRYPT\_H=1 USE\_GETADDRINFO=1 USE\_ZLIB=1 USE\_REGPARM=1 USE\_OPENSSL=1 USE\_PCRE=1 USE\_THREAD=1 USE\_LUA=1 LUA\_LIB\_NAME=/usr/lib64/lua/5.3  
CC src/ssl\_sock.o  
In file included from include/types/stream.h:36,  
from include/proto/log.h:35,  
from include/common/cfgparse.h:30,  
from src/ssl\_sock.c:57:  
include/types/hlua.h:6:10: fatal error: lua.h: No such file or directory  
#include \<lua.h\>

compilation terminated.  
make: \*\*\* [Makefile:846: src/ssl\_sock.o] Error 1

But if I try with out USE\_LUA=1 ==\> it works fine.

Could some one kindly help to fix the issue.

Do you you need LUA? Because unless you need it, just compile without.

Which exact CentOs release is this, and did you install lua headers?

Hi Lukas,

default yum install haproxy comes with LUA in CentOS but not with 2.1.2

So, I need LUA + other options

thanks for responding to my query: I have sorted out by compiling using below

LUA\_LIB=/usr/local/lib   
LUA\_INC=/usr/local/bin
